Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can we bring our pet?
A. Yes, your dog or cat is welcome but please try to remove the animal hair and droppings before you leave. Thanks
Q. Can we smoke in the cottage?
A. No, we prefer that you ask smokers to smoke outside. We are very allergic to cigarette smoke and it is hard to get the smell out of the cottage
Q. Will linens/towels be provided?
A. Most people prefer to bring their own linen but if you need some we can provide it for you. If we do, we ask that you launder it before you leave. You will need to bring your own towels.
Q. Will we need to bring dishes and cutlery?
A. No we provide everything you need in the kitchen except consumables. Bring your own paper towel, dishwasher detergent etc.
Q. Is the water safe to drink?
A. Lorimer Lake has one of the highest water quality ratings in the province but many people don’t like the taste so we provide a water cooler as well as a filtered drinking water tap in the kitchen sink.
Q. Is wood supplied for the wood stove?
A. Yes, we have a woodshed with a full supply of logs for the woodstove. We have three supermarkets in Parry Sound and Sobey’s is open 24 hours in the summer months. We recommend you shop for food when you arrive.
Q. Does it stay warm in the cottage?
A. Yes, the woodstove really heats the cottage up well and each room is thermostatically controlled.
Q. How is the road in to the cottage?
A. Our driveway is ploughed and is usually in good condition.
Q. What are the best restaurants?
A. Bay St. Café overlooking the Parry Sound dock, The Log Cabin (Burtons) and The Inn at Manitou
